A pause-before-install checklist
APK Safety Policy
A listing can help you investigate an APK, but it cannot certify the file. Use these checks before allowing an install from outside the Play Store.
Match the source
- Compare the spelling of the app name, the icon and the destination domain.
- Prefer a source you reached intentionally instead of a forwarded file or surprise redirect.
- Keep Android security tools and Play Protect active while you inspect the file.
Read permissions like a sceptic
A card-game app should have a clear reason for every sensitive request. Be careful with SMS, contacts, accessibility, screen-sharing and device-administrator access. If the explanation is vague, stop the install.
Protect the account after install
Never share an OTP, UPI PIN or identity document through an unsolicited message. If an installer asks you to disable protection or pay before showing basic details, close it and report the page through Contact Us.
